Success Story Stiebel Eltron
Transparency and scalability through migration to BatchMan
Looking for a more intuitive solution:
Stiebel Eltron was already using job scheduling software before BatchMan. However, it no longer met the requirements and expectations: With the predecessor, it was difficult for employees to maintain an overview and transparency in job chains. In addition, the use of the tool was not intuitive enough for those departments that carried out scheduling only from time to time.
Therefore, the SAP Basis at Stiebel Eltron was looking for an alternative workload automation solution with the premise of achieving simple operation and clear integration into the existing SAP landscape.
Industry: Heating, Venting, and Air Conditioning
Use Case: Migration from other scheduler for more overview and intuitiveness
Advantages: Transparent operation and faster process chains
These functions convinced Stiebel Eltron:
Direct integration into SAP
Large range of functions without appearing overloaded
The familiar SAP user interface (SAP GUI)
Short training effort & rapid deployment
NonSAP File Transfer via Add-on File & DataManager
Sought, found: scalable automation in SAP
Already during the first review of suppliers, Stiebel Eltron was convinced by HONICO BatchMan. BatchMan not only offered a solution for Stiebel Eltron‘s current requirements, but also covered future requirements due to its scalability as an all-encompassing solution.
The HONICO consultants always supported the employees of Stiebel Eltron very quickly and competently during the implementation and configuration and in the event of problems. Since BatchMan runs directly in the SAP GUI, the interface in SAP, all users who are at home in SAP found their way around without any problems and were able to get started immediately after a short training session.
For cross-system job chains, Stiebel Eltron also opted for the File & DataManager (FDM) add-on. This made it possible to implement functions such as FTP, SFTP, and the execution of batch files that are not available in SAP on various servers.
Result: faster processing and transparency
By introducing BatchMan, Stiebel Eltron was able to realize a significantly faster and more flexible workload automation. The transition was simple and fast, and the requirement to achieve a customizable and transparent overview in job scheduling could be realized with BatchMan.
BatchMan automates business processes at Stiebel Eltron such as the SAP MRP run (Material Requirements Planning) and the SAP invoicing. The maintenance windows that can be scheduled also enable Stiebel Eltron to conveniently stop all job processing in the event of downtimes in SAP and to restart it in a planned and controlled manner. All employees, even those who rarely create job chains, can easily get an overview with BatchMan and are more intuitive in using the software than with the previous tool.
